progress!

Beitrag von Gast »

Due to the shit UK weather progress on my zxr has been slow. But today I post some pics for you to look at, the bike is about 85% complete to how I want it and is rideable..

My wife did the paint, but we had many problems with the dreaded "orange peel" effect and it is not 100% but it will do...

Future plans: change swingarm for the M model one I have, swap rear shock for another kawasaki shock I have, jack back end up, mirrors, new brakelines...bellypan and also polish/powdercoat the frame..

See what you think..comments appreciated ;)

Hi, I like the paintjob, especially the way you made the lines.
From which bike is the frontlight?

Hello,

Thanks for the kind comments...

The frontlight is from ebay, its an after market item so not from any particular bike. I believe it is available in carbon in Germany? Anyway, I got it shipped to me from a Canadian ebay seller..

The flourescent white is actually reflective blue wheel rim tape! I still have to put some on the wheel rims lol

Well, I had a good ride on the bike over the weekend. I prefer it to my bandit 1200! although it is a tad small, I'm hoping the jack-up kit will sort this out..

Few areas need attention: risers although bolted down have some movement :?

Speedo isnt showing anywhere near the correct speed so need to play with magnet positions...

Std suspension is still rock hard at the rear so need to swap shocks asap

And still need some some mirrors

Apart from that, I'm enjoying this bike and I want another one asap

Anyone wanna buy a bandit 12?? 8)

the whole rear would look better without the licenseplate-plastic-stuff. Any plans on removing that?

I hadnt thought about it tbh, but i see what you're thinking. When the back end gets jacked up its going to spoil the lines of the rear. I will think about removing it for sure, but it depends on where I can remount the numberplate and not get hassle from the UK police :x

you can buy aftermarket mountings for numberplates. Or are those illegal in the UK ?

Gast

No, they are not illegal...however you have to be careful where you actually mount the numberplate unless you want trouble with the law...

I'm, moving house within the next 2 weeks so aside from some tidying up the bike will have to stay as it is for now :?
